She is born in a family that have been actors for generations, including her paternal great-grandfather, Prithviraj Kapoor; her grandfather, Raj Kapoor; her paternal uncles, Shammi, Shashi, Rishi, and Rajiv; as well as aunt, Neetu Singh, & Jennifer Kendall, the wives of Rishi and Shashi respectively. On her maternal side, her grandfather, Hari Shivdasani, and aunt, Sadhana, have been actors in their own rights.

Her dad, Randhir is very protective towards his daughters and wanted both of them to keep away from acting, get married, and settle down, as per the Kapoor family tradition. This led to irreconcilable differences between her parents, ultimately leading to a divorce, with both sisters leaving their dad to live with their mom.

The first unconventional step she took was by signing Refugee immediately after rejecting Rakesh Roshan's Kaho Naa...Pyar Hai. Minor differences led to her walking out of the project, and wisely so, since the film did nothing for its heroine Amisha Patel. Refugee was a perfect launch for Kareena, who, with her ethereal looks managed to carve a niche for herself as a performing actress as opposed to a glamour doll.  

Kareena would like to be known as an actress right from her first film. She does not wish to be paid to just stand in front of the camera and look good. This surely is ambitious thinking for a 23 something actress. However, her genes speak for her.

She is coy and shy, quite unlike the off screen Kareena. As an actress, she claims to be totally different from sister Karishma. In fact, she is Lady Shah Rukh Khan. She wants everyone to love and praise her. Like him, she will collect dozens of awards, though she refuses to be content with the Best Debut Award. "Everyone gets that, I want something bigger," says she. Hopefully, destiny will support her.

His parents were first-generation Cuban immigrants who didn't let their son forget about his culture. They required him to memorize the works of Cuban poet Jose Marti, and Pit bull understood the power of words right away.

The 2005 compilation Money Is Still a Major Issue collected the best of these collaborations along with some remixes and unreleased tracks. In 2006 the single "Bojangles" prepared fans for his next album, El Mariel. As the album landed on the shelves it was announced that his next effort would be entirely in Spanish and titled The Boat lift. When the end product arrived in 2007, it was an album mostly English, introduced by the single "Go Girl." Two years later he released Revelation, an album filled with slick club cuts. 

Pit bull got involved in the game himself when he started appearing on Miami mix tapes. A meeting with Irv Gotti resulted in nothing, but soon Luther Campbell called on the rapper to appear on his "Lollipop" single. It brought Pit bull to the attention of the Diaz Brothers management team, who introduced the rapper to the king of crunk, Lil Jon. A Pit bull freestyle landed on Lil Jon's platinum-selling Kings of Crunk album in 2002, and the rapper's "Oye" track appeared on the 2 Fast 2 Furious soundtrack in 2003. Ready to take it all the way to the top, Pit bull unleashed his debut full-length, M.I.A.M.I., in 2004 on the TVT label, with the Lil Jon-produced single "Culo" leading the way.
